This coming Shabbat is known as Shabbat Shira – the Sabbath of Song – so named because in the Torah portion Moses & the Israelites sang a song of celebration after crossing the sea in their flight from Egypt. We’ll take advantage of that when Randi leads us on an exploration of Jewish music from different times and different places throughout the history of our people. It will be fascinating to see the influences of different cultures and musical traditions on our own music – something that continues to our own day.

Chris and Gail will host our potluck dessert; please sign up early in the week: For further info, contact Gail: [email protected]; (847) 612-7387.

7:00    Ma’ariv/Evening Tefilot
7:45    Dessert & Learning

Remember please: Bring non-perishables to support the work of the KUMC Food Pantry.

I hope you enjoy a good week.

Shavua tov,
